Controversial mannequins La Perla was just criticised for their too-thin mannequins, but it's just the latest in an ongoing (and disturbing) trend.

Lingerie brand La Perla has fallen victim to the speed of social media, after a customer noticed their window mannequin had ribs etched into it. He tweeted the image of the SoHo store's model, asking "How does #LaPerla think ribs on a mannequin is ok?!", and although the store noticed the tweet and swiftly had it removed (assuring customers that those models would be removed from all stores), the negative press had already gone viral.
